This product is repacked in a facility that handles nuts, peanuts, gluten (Including cereals containing gluten), egg, soya, milk and sulphites.
Bakewell tart, black forest gateau and a cherry-topped sundae all start in the same place, and Colac Cherry Topping Sauce covers all three.
From Colac in Belgium, it arrives in a 1kg squeeze bottle, topped with an anti-drip cap and ready for the counter in any season.
How Much Fruit Is in Colac Cherry Sauce?
A third of it. Cherries make up 25% and cherry puree a further 10%, with sugar, glucose-fructose syrup and water. Corn starch, pectin and xanthan gum give it body, and anthocyanins (E163) deepen the red. The flavouring contains milk, so vegetarians can enjoy this sauce while vegans cannot, and it has no place on a milk-free menu.
How to Use Cherry Sauce
Pour it over vanilla or chocolate ice cream with cream and a wafer, or spoon it onto pancakes and crêpes. Spread a layer under the frangipane of a Bakewell tart, top a baked cheesecake with it, or fold it through whipped cream between chocolate sponges for a gateau. Stored in the dark at up to 25°C, an unopened bottle keeps for 24 months. A pump dispenser for the Colac range speeds things up when the queue builds.
