Colac Blue Bear is a vivid blue topping sauce with a sweet bubblegum flavour, made for the counters where children choose first.

It comes from Colac in Belgium, in a 1kg bottle; its anti-drip cap keeps the serving area tidy.

What Does Blue Bear Taste Like? 

Bubblegum. The base is sugar, glucose-fructose syrup and water, set with corn starch, pectin and xanthan gum, with a flavouring for that bubblegum taste and a touch of citric acid. The striking colour is brilliant blue (E133). Vegans and vegetarians are both covered, according to Colac, and its recipe holds none of the 14 major allergens, so it is an easy choice for a mixed party table.

How to Use Blue Bear Sauce 

Squeeze it over vanilla or white ice cream, where the blue shows best, or ripple it through soft serve for a two-tone cone. It brightens a milkshake when drizzled down the inside of the glass first, and it adds a pop of colour to cupcakes, pancakes and party desserts. Store it away from light and moisture, no warmer than 25°C, and it lasts two years before opening.
