Whisky truffles are a winter favourite, and the Scotch you choose shapes every one of them. Glen Turner is a blended malt Scotch whisky, aged for three years and made entirely from malt whiskies, with a nose that moves from light peat and vanilla to buttery shortbread, cinnamon and a hint of toffee.

Our culinary Glen Turner is bottled at 60% vol, which means much less water in the bottle than in a drinking whisky. In a ganache that difference shows: extra liquid loosens the texture and shortens the shelf life, so a concentrate gives you a firmer filling that keeps for longer, from a smaller pour.

How to Use Glen Turner Whisky 

Whisky's flavour follows its strength, which makes converting a recipe simple: use two-thirds of the amount written for a 40% whisky and you get the same flavour. Stir it into a ganache, caramel or cream once the mixture has cooled a little, since the hotter the mix, the more flavour evaporates, and taste before you add more. The 250ml bottle is a handy size for testing a new truffle before you commit to the 1l.
