Price Changes for Jan 2018

We wanted to give you a heads up on what is happening with prices from January 2018. We are still in the process of finalising prices, but we have enough to give you an idea at this point of what will happen.

1. Callebaut and Cacao Barry pricing will not be increasing, and may even reduce slightly
2. Cargill and Veliche pricing will not be increasing.
3. Any products we buy from our suppliers in Euros will see increases due to the weakness of Sterling.

Just to explain the impact of exchange rates on pricing :

From the chart below (EUR/GBP), you can see that Sterling remained at around 1.17 from December 2016 through till around June 2017. Following the General Election on 8th June Sterling slid down to 1.08, its lowest level since 2009. Since then it has stabilised in a trading range around 1.13.

When Sterling fell through the summer of 2017, we held our prices and absorbed the higher costs in the hope of a rebound, which never came! However, we cannot continue to do this so from 1st January 2018, we do expect the price of products sourced in Euros to rise a little as a result of the currency factor.

Our goal remains to keep prices as stable as possible, especially in this highly volatile environment, so you can plan your business with confidence.

DELISTED ITEMS

We have just been notified that the following items will be discontinued from January 2018 by Cacao Barry and Callebaut.

We are working with suppliers to try and secure further stocks to ensure you have these items into the new year. We will endeavour to keep stock available for as long as possible, whilst we look for suitable alternatives.
