Culinary Alcohol Concentrates : Luxardo
One of the oldest European firms producing liqueurs, Luxardo was founded in 1821 when the wife of a consular representative, Maria Canevari, dedicated herself to perfecting a 'rosolio maraschino', a liqueur produced in Dalmatia since medieval times.

The liqueur she produced was of such high quality that it claimed the attention not only of family and friends but of serious connoisseurs. Her husband, Girolamo Luxardo, founded the distillery to produce Maraschino, and after eight years of research and perfecting the product, he obtained an exclusive 'privilege' from the Emperor of Austria: this was a valuable and cherished acknowledgment of the superior quality of the Luxardo liqueur, and today the firm continues to be proud to bear the denomination of: "PRIVILEGIATA FABBRICA MARASCHINO EXCELSIOR"
Transferred to Torreglia in Padua in 1947 due to the consequences of the Second World War, Luxardo is now a leader in the liqueurs industry and one of the few proprietary brands present in almost all the international markets. The firm owns over 20,000 Marasca Luxardo cherry trees, cultivated in industrial nurseries, and is the only company with such agricultural installation in the European Union!
Still 100% controlled by the founding family, the sixth generation of the family is now active in the company, manufacturing Maraschino which made their name known worldwide, as well as a full line of classic Italian liqueurs.
